Ubik Cabinetry & Fine Carpentry is a family-run custom cabinetry and woodworking shop in San Rafael, California. Ubik creates custom pieces for both high-end residential and commercial spaces throughout Marin County and San Francisco.

Ubik’s roots began in South East London in 2010 when founder Lawrence Westlake, originally from Y Bannau Brycheiniog of Wales, began his woodworking career after obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in sculpture from Brighton University. Lisa Smithey, originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, had also recently obtained a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Slade School of Fine Art, University College London. They began working together in London and eventually Lawrence, Lisa, and their son relocated to Marin County, California, in 2017.
